How to professionally clean a household |
PREPARATION FOR DUTY |

Cobwebs
|
One clean tray (see “How to Set up and Use a Cleaning Tray) Counters, Floors, etc. that have special stone such as MARBLE, GRANITE, Clean Rags Bottle of Disinfectant Bottle Acid with Foam Nozzle 1 Sponge Grout brush Raizor Blade Bottle of Furniture, Polish/oil Small Feather Duster Long Feather Duster Bottle of Glass Cleaner Bottle of Degreaser (mild alkaline solution) Soft Scrub with Bleach |
All countertop appliances have to be moved forward so that cleaning can be done for counters, outside and inside of refrigerator. DO NOT forget to catch |
Inside the Refrigerator | Use degreaser/mild alkaline solution. (regular cleaning) Look for spills. Lift up items inside the fridge wipe underneath and at the same time wipe items off. Such as Jam Jars. Take the lid of and wipe the top of the jar and inside the top to get dried jam off. Open the Meat and Vegetable drawer. Wipe out the obvious and put 2 clean paper towels on the bottom of the drawers.DO NOT pull the fridge out, it could disconnect the water line |

Outside Refrigerator | Wipe from top to bottom and wipe the sides. Open the door and wipe all around it including the rubber seal. Get inside the crevices of the seal and if needed use the grout brush to get crumbs and dirt out. If the door handle has grime build up, use some soft scrub with a blue sponge. |
Free from stains and grimy build up |
Take the dripping tray out (where the water and ice come out) and use the acid with the foam sprayer and get calcium deposit off. Use grout brush to get into crevices. |
Prevent calcium from building up | |
Freezer | Open the door and clean around the door the same as the refrigerator door and wipe obvious spills and get crumbs out. Use degreaser |

Coffee Maker | Empty filter holder, take it out and clean with degreaser/mild alkaline solution. Ask customer if any coffee that is left inside the coffee pot could be poured out. If customer is not at home pour out the leftover coffee and clean the coffee pot. Take coffee pot off the hot plate and clean top and outside of coffee maker and clean underneath the filter holder and look for any drippings and wipe it. Clean the hot plate and if necessary use the groutcleaner to wipe dirt around the hot plate. Make sure the all the settings on the coffee maker do not get changed. DO NOT unplug the coffee maker because it might be on “auto program”. |
Free from stains |
Stove Top | Begin by taking the knobs of and clean underneath them. Clean flat area as well and wipe dry. Use a degreaser/mild alkaline solution. Put knobs on a rag and spray with the degreaser and wipe them down. Use grout brush, if necessary to get into the crevices. Put knobs back. Take the burners off and take trays and soak the them in hot water, with degreaser in the water. In the meantime clean stove top with either degreaser or soft scrub or with chemical approved by manufacturer. Clean the trays, put them back and put burners back on. If trays are very dirty/burned, recommend to customer that it is more cost effective to buy new once than to pay to have them cleaned. |
Free from Grease build up |
Gas Burners | Take tops of, including the little plates that cover the top where burner ignites. DO NOT get the area wet, where the burners ignite, or customer will have to wait to use the stove until it is all dried out. Soak the tops the same as trays for regular stove top and use soft scrub with bleach, blue sponge and grout brush for crevices and clean soaked items off. But before doing so clean stove top with either degreaser or soft scrub or with chemical approved by manufacturer. Make sure that stove top is put back together the way it was. If trays have dirt burned on to the point where it can not be restored to good condition by cleaning them, recommend to customer that it is more cost effective to buy new once than pay to have them cleaned. |

Oven, inside and inside of door | If self cleaning, take Racks out before turning oven on. DO NOT use oven cleaner on self cleaning ovens, it will ruin the self cleaning cycle. After cycle is done wipe out the dirt with a damp rag.If it is NOT self cleaning use an oven cleaner that can just be sprayed on no heat is necessary for it to work. |

Racks | Use soft scrub with a blue sponge. Or an oven cleaner can be used. | Same as above |
Glass on inside of door | Spray degreaser/mildalkaline solution on glass and let is soak for 1 to 2 minutes. Use a raizor blade and scrape the glass |

Drawer bottom of stove | Pull drawer out and vacuum any crumbs out and wipe the top, sides and front of the drawer with degreaser and push drawer back in. |

Microwave | Start from top to bottom. Use degreaser/mild alkaline solution and wipetop and sides. Wipe glass, outside of door, with glass cleaner. Open door, and clean inside with degreaser and polish glass part with glass cleaner. Take the plate out soak it in water and while soaking, wash inside of microwave with degreaser and blue sponge. Top, sides backand bottom. Clean plate with degreaser and blue sponge or if needed, use soft scrub with blue sponge. If inside is very dirty and dirt is dried on and hard to get off, put a cup of water inside and turn the microwave on for 1 to 2 minutes. The dirt will be much easier to clean off. |

Toaster | Unplug first, empty crumbs out of toaster, some toasters have trays, others have to be turned upside down to get the crumbs out. If toaster has a tray, wipe tray clean with degreaser/mild alkalinesolution. Wipe outside with glass cleaner and polish with dry rag. |
Prevent grime from building up and burned crumbs from burning over and over and causing a bad smell |
Toaster Oven | Start from top to bottom. Use degreaser/mild alkalinesolution and wipe top and sides. Wipe the glass part, outside of door, with glass cleaner. Open door, and clean inside with degreaser and polish glass with glass cleaner. Take racks out and clean the same as racks inside an oven. Take bottom tray out and dump crumbs out and wipe tray. Put tray back. DO NOT spray any chemical directly inside Toaster Oven. Spray degreaser on a wet rag and use rag to wipe top, back, sides and bottom. |

Cupboards | If wood, spray with degreaser and wipe dirt and grime off, use grout brush for crevices. Then use wood polish/oil. If cupboards are not wood then either use degreaser to get grime off and polish up with glass cleaner, or if cupboards are not too dirty use glass cleaner. Make inside of cupboard door is wiped with degreaser, right at the edge where fingerprints show. Wipe handles as well. |

Floor/Rugs | Vacuum rugs first, lift them up, vacuum floor and then mop. Refer to the top and make sure you identify what type of floor you are dealing with. Example, wood, tile, stone, cement floors etc. If you are dealing with anything but wood or tile ask customer if he/she has a product that the manufacturer wants to be used. |
Free of crumbs and sticky stuff |
Sink/drain/rubber stopper inside garbage disposal | Use soft scrub with bleach and sponge. It can be used even on stainless steel. Put soft scrub inside sink, use wet sponge to spread around. Let is sit for about 2 minutes the bleach will help take stains out. Use grout brush for crevices where the drain/garbage disposal meets the sink. Use sponge for inside of drain as well as for the rubber stopper inside the garbage disposal. Use hot water to rinse the soft scrub out and dry. DO NOT use anything harsher than soft scrub with bleach. NO ACID it will discolor stainless steel. |

Faucet | Use sponge that was used above to wipe down the faucet. Don’t forget to wipe underneath and crevices. Use grout brush to wipe bottom of faucet where bottom meets the sink. Rinse with water and polish with dry rag. DO NOT use anything harsher than soft scrub with bleach. NO ACID it will discolor stainless steel. |
